She was the best and funniest nurse ever and accommodated me in any way I asked, including not to tell me when she was sticking me lol. I asked my nurse if it would hurt and she said just a pinch and I could barely tell it was there after a minute. I got an IV, which I was scared for since I’ve never had one before. I got a hospital gown and only wore my boxers and socks. I did a pee test and was taken to my bed for the rest of the day. We went back into the lobby and shortly after we’re called into the hospital portion where we went over allergies and medical info yet again. She was one of my favorites and so nice and funny despite it being so early in the morning. About 20 min later a nurse called us into an office to do the finalizing paperwork and pay the $2275 hospital fee. I checked in and filled some more paperwork. My tip is just took at the location on the GPS itself and direct yourself once you actually reach the hospital instead of reading signs. We went to the main hospital on accident and they gave us pretty bad directions to the actual place despite it being in the same area. We left with time to be early, and still were late by 15 minutes trying to find the place. I ended up being the first, but no times were changed. They told me to be there 7 and my surgery would be at 830. G would do, but that I might be moved to the first case. > Surgery day I was told at pre-op that I was set to be the second surgery that Dr. I couldn’t sleep very well and fell asleep maybe at 2am with my alarm set for very early in the morning. I showered with Hibiclens and let it set for 5 minutes and shaved my armpits. I then went home and was nervous the entire night. No eating or drinking after midnight, no body jewelry (I used plastic retainers and left them in for about a week and a half and was fine), and I provided them with all my medical information (allergies and such). G office and the total with the 3 prescriptions and socks and hibiclens was around $40.Ī couple days before my pre-op appointment, I had gotten a call from the surgical center where a staff member told me the same information I got from Dr. I also picked up some gauze and bacitracin for post op, but really I didn’t need this stuff until a week later (and a laxative and tylonel which ai did use). I paid the $300 cash pathology fee at the end and took the prescription to the nearby publix where they got me all 3 prescriptions (percocet, zofran, and keflex) as well as making sure I had compression socks and hibiclens soap. I was then led out and his front desk staff gave me some papers and very detailed instructions for surgery the next day. Personally, as long as my surgeon knows what he’s doing and has good results, I don’t mind if he’s not a comedian. He was polite and nice, but I didn’t see any real personality from him which I don’t mind. He goes very fast, but you can tell that he knows what he’s talking about and he answered any question I had with ease. He gave me the opportunity to ask questions, and I’m glad I had wrote some down beforehand because with how fast he went through everything, I was pretty stunned with all of the information at once. He took photos of my chest from different angles and explained what the process would be like. G came in with one of his assistants and showed me where he would make incisions and explained to me what it would look like. I took off my shirt and binder and changed into a paper gown. Garramone to come in, but once he did he was very brisk with the appointment. Shortly after, I was called into the back and put into a private room. Once I got inside, I wrote down my name on a piece of paper and they had me fill out my name on a bunch of paperwork that I had time to go through. To get inside, you ring a doorbell and they buzz you in. The actual office looks like all the buildings surrounding it and doesn’t stand out as a trans-centered practice which I liked. My appointment was in the morning at 11am. > Pre-op (one day before surgery) I live locally so I didn’t have to worry about a place to stay. I’m less than a week away from being done with nipple dressings and none of it has been extraordinarily difficult. I probably should have wore my compression socks more but I stopped after maybe 5 days and that was that. I ate my normal food I would have otherwise and only needed a laxative for two days. I slept a LOT the first couple weeks and never had nausea. Any questions are welcome and I will post all the things I bought at the end! As for recovery, I stopped taking percs after about 3 or 4 days because I’m not a fan of opioids and was fine cold turkeying it and switching to tylonel. I am currently 25 days post op and feeling fine. They did something similar and it’s actually very accurate so read theirs too if you’re interested. For starters, I got the idea to make this from the link below.
